If you did not do so over the weekend, do the following:
Chapter 8 packet--look over; keep this packet for next week
Chapter 5 packet--read pages 81-89
Population Dynamics packet--read the packet, then go to the url at the bottom of the page and see the effect of the sliders on the growth of the model population.
New assignment:
(1) Review scientific notation and nomenclature; what are 'million', 'billion', and 'trillion' in scientific notation?
(2) From the exercise on Population Dynamics, for settings of 2 children per mother, no infant or age 10 mortality, and mother's age of 12 the final population is smaller than the same settings but mother's age of 16, 18 to 20. Can you think of reasons why this would be true?
